Reactor Testing Case at No. 2 and No. 3 Capacitor Cabinets

October 10, 2026

Latest company case about Reactor Testing Case at No. 2 and No. 3 Capacitor Cabinets

Project Overview

  • Customer: Daye Mingxiang Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd.

  • Test Location: No. 2 and No. 3 capacitor cabinets

  • Test Date: September 24, 2026

  • Weather: Overcast

  • Ambient Temperature: 23°C

  • Relative Humidity: 50%

The project involved insulation resistance measurements before and after the withstand voltage test, followed by AC withstand voltage testing on the reactors installed in both capacitor cabinets.

1. Insulation Resistance Measurement

Insulation resistance was measured at 15 seconds and 60 seconds, and the absorption ratio was recorded where available. Measurements were taken before and after the withstand voltage test.

For the reactors in the No. 2 capacitor cabinet, the recorded insulation resistance values before testing ranged from 4.67 GΩ to 7.15 GΩ. After testing, the recorded values ranged from 4.46 TΩ to 5.86 TΩ.

For the reactors in the No. 3 capacitor cabinet, the recorded insulation resistance values were greater than 10 TΩ before and after testing.

These results were documented in the original test report. Insulation resistance should be assessed against the applicable equipment specifications and testing criteria.

2. AC Withstand Voltage Test

The AC withstand voltage test was conducted on all three phases of the reactors in both capacitor cabinets.

Test Object Test Voltage Duration Result
No. 2 Cabinet – Phase A 18 kV 1 min Pass
No. 2 Cabinet – Phase B 18 kV 1 min Pass
No. 2 Cabinet – Phase C 18 kV 1 min Pass
No. 3 Cabinet – Phase A 18 kV 1 min Pass
No. 3 Cabinet – Phase B 18 kV 1 min Pass
No. 3 Cabinet – Phase C 18 kV 1 min Pass

All six tested phases passed the AC withstand voltage test under the specified test conditions.

3. Test Conclusion

According to the test report, all tested items were qualified. The insulation resistance measurements were recorded, and all six phases passed the 18 kV AC withstand voltage test for one minute.

This case demonstrates the importance of checking insulation condition and conducting withstand voltage testing during electrical equipment inspection and maintenance. Actual acceptance should always follow the applicable standards, equipment nameplate data, and approved test procedures.
