Test Method

Phase angles at both ends of each cable line were measured. A phase difference of less than 6 degrees between the same phases indicates consistent phase sequence.

Three 10KV lines were tested against the 110kV Jiangdian Substation as reference.

Line 1 – Gongyeyuan Line 15:

  • Phase A differences: 5°, 2°, 3°
  • Phase B differences: 3°, 2°, 2°
  • Phase C differences: 2°, 1°, 3°

All within 6 degrees. Result: Phase sequence consistent.

Line 2 – KD18 Line:

  • Phase A differences: 1°, 1°, 2° → consistent
  • Phase B differences: 123°, 125°, 126° → inconsistent
  • Phase C differences: 248°, 133°, 120° → inconsistent

Conclusion: Phase A is correct; Phase B and Phase C are reversed.

Line 3 – Jiangtian Line 16:

  • Phase A differences: 3°, 1°
  • Phase B differences: 3°, 2°
  • Phase C differences: 3°, 1°

All within 6 degrees. Result: Phase sequence consistent.

Final Conclusion:

HKVTest successfully identified a phase reversal on KD18 Line (B and C phases reversed). The client was able to correct the wiring before energization, preventing a potential short circuit or equipment damage. The other two lines were confirmed correct.
